For instance, because OMF scholars are assigned mentors; attend regularly scheduled dinners, group meetings and retreats; participate in campus organizations and activities; and become involved in community service initiatives each semester, they quickly develop friendships and supporters.
The program awards an average of 10 scholarships a year. As a result, at any time, the program has about 40 scholars, ranging from freshmen to seniors, pursuing a variety of majors. As part of the program, students also learn to practice philanthropy in their own lives and become campus leaders. Providing students with a well-rounded academic experience is precisely what architects of the program dreamed would happen.
